Thandel (2025)– Storyline
“Thandel” is a 2025 Indian Telugu-language romantic action thriller directed by Chandoo Mondeti, featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The film is inspired by a real-life incident from 2018, where a fisherman from Srikakulam inadvertently crossed into Pakistani waters and was captured by Pakistani forces.
Raju, a dedicated fisherman, is deeply in love with Satya. Despite Satya’s pleas for him to seek safer employment, Raju continues his fishing ventures. During one such expedition, he accidentally drifts into Pakistani territorial waters and is arrested. The narrative unfolds as Raju and Satya strive to reunite, facing numerous challenges and emotional trials along the way
Filming commenced in December 2023, with principal photography taking place in locations such as Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Udupi. A notable highlight is the dance sequence “Namo Namah Shivaya,” which involved 900 trained dancers and was produced with a substantial budget.
